Lionsgate has announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Hot Seat on 8/9. The film stars Kevin Dillon and Mel Gibson.
MVD Entertainment has announced the 9/13 Blu-ray release of Canadian Bacon as part of their MVD Marquee line-up.
The Film Detective has announced that it will release Crane Wilbur’s The Bat (1959) as a Blu-ray special edition on 9/27. The film stars Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead.
Scream Factory has revealed some of the details of its 7/26 release of Species on 4K Ultra HD. Both the Blu-ray and Ultra HD discs in the package will be mastered from a new 4K scan of the original negative, and will include audio commentary (with Natasha Henstridge, Michael Madsen, and director Roger Donaldson) and a second commentary (with Donaldson, make-up effects creator Steve Johnson, visual effects supervisor Richard Edlund, and producer Frank Mancuso Jr). There will also be a Blu-ray of bonus features (including Afterbirth: The Evolution of Species, From Sil to Eve, Engineering Life, HR Giger at Work, The Making of Species: The Origin, the Concept, the Discovery, Designing a Hybrid, the theatrical trailer, an alternate ending, and multiple photo galleries).
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Eva Husson’s Mothering Sunday for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/28.
Screen Media has set Monstrous, starring Christina Ricci, for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/5.
Blue Underground has set Larry Cohen’s God Told Me To for release on 4K Ultra HD on 7/19, featuring a new 4K restoration of the original uncensored negative, Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos audio, and lots of extras.
Ronin Flix has set Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), The Delta Force (1986), and Death Warrant (1990) for Blu-ray release on 8/23, followed by Rollerball (1975), Minoru Yamada’s Voyage Into Space (1970), and Land of Doom (1986) on 9/13.
Lightyear is releasing YellowBrickRoad (2010) on Blu-ray on 8/9.
Synapse Films will release Massacre at Central High (1976) on Blu-ray on 9/13.
And for UK readers, Eureka! has set King Vidor’s Man Without a Star (1955) for Blu-ray release on August 15th as part of their Masters of Cinema Series.
