We’re rounding out the week with a pair of new Blu-ray reviews...

Tim Salmons has checked in with his thoughts on Shout! Factory’s new Transformers: The Movie – 30th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray. Sounds like it’s pretty terrific, though you may still wish to keep your previous editions for the extras that don’t carry over. More in the review.

Also, Jim Hemphill has offered up his thoughts on Twilight’s recent Blu-ray edition of Busby Berkeley’s The Gang’s All Here (1943), which is flat out terrific. Don’t miss it.

By the way, in case you missed the update I posted to my review of the set late on Wednesday, Madman Entertainment’s new Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: The Complete Series is actually an All Region release, even though it’s listed many places as being Region B. We’re kicking things off this week with an early morning Monday post to deliver all of the breaking Blu-ray news out of Comic-Con in San Diego this past weekend.

First though, our own Tim Salmons has begun a new week of Pick-Ups reviews with a look at Synapse Films’ new Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow – Special Edition Blu-ray, which arrived in stored on 7/12. It sounds like an outstanding documentary look behind the scenes on the making of the film, with a ton of great extras, so do give it a look. [Read on here…]

It’s been a little crazy here the last couple days. Review product for ID4, Star Trek, and Star Trek Into Darkness in 4K Ultra HD has arrived and I’m starting to work on my reviews of each. I’m going to try to post at least one of them today, and maybe another tomorrow. The Martian: Extended Edition should be here early next week, so I’ll get to work on that one too as soon as it comes in.
