One quick follow-up note from yesterday: I’ve heard back from Universal and learned that the studio has no current plans to release Knight Rider on Blu-ray here in the States. As many of you know, it was just released in Japan on Blu-ray and, while the disc can be imported (as both countries are Region A), it’s an expensive proposition. In any case, if that situation changes we’ll let you know.

In announcement news today, Warner Home Video has announced that The Tom and Jerry Show: Season 1, Part 2 – Funny Side Up will arrive on DVD on 1/13 (SRP $19.97), featuring 13 classic episodes (each with two animated shorts). Episodes include Turn About/The Plight Before Christmas, Tuffy Love/Poof!, Top Cat/Mummy Dearest, Domestic Kingdom/Molecular Break Up, Just Plane Nuts/Pets Not Welcome, Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’/Road Trippin’, Magic Mirror/Bone Dry, My Bot-y Guard/Little Quacker and Mister Fuzzy Hide, Pipeline/No Brain, No Gain, Cat Napped/Black Cat, Hunger Strikes/Gravi-Tom, Ghost Party/Cat-Astrophe, and Curse Case Scenario/Say Cheese.

Meanwhile, Timeless Media and Shout! Factory are releasing the Supermarionation classic Stingray: The Complete Series – 50th Anniversary Edition on DVD on 1/13. All 39 episodes will be includes, along with a previously unseen interview with Gerry Anderson,  audio commentary from the creators, a “making of” featurette and more!

Lionsgate has set Dear White People for Blu-ray and DVD release on 1/20. Extras will include audio commentary with writer/director Justin Simien, a second commentary with Simien, Tessa Thompson, Tyler James Williams, Teyonah Parris, and Brandon Bell, deleted scenes, outtakes, Caught a Ghost’s Get Your Life music video, and featurettes (The Making of Dear White People, Racism Insurance Skits, The More You Know About Black People PSA Series, Black Friends When You Need Them, and LEAKED: Banned Winchester U Diversity).
