On the standard Blu-ray front, here’s a nice surprise: It appears that Phil Tippett’s stop-motion masterpiece Mad God (2021) is coming to Blu-ray Steelbook and DVD on 12/6 from RLJ Entertainment. There’s no sign of a 4K Ultra HD release yet sadly, but it’s available in 4K via Digital. Stay tuned for additional details and cover artwork as they’re made available.
Also coming from RLJE on 12/6... the AMC series titles The Old Man: Season 1 and Creepshow: Season 3 on both Blu-ray and DVD.
Meanwhile, Warner will be releasing the DC streaming series Peacemaker: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/22.
Warner has also set And Just Like That... The Complete First Season for DVD only release on 12/13. This is the recently-streamed HBO Max sequel to Sex and the City.
Paramount will release the family title Secret Headquarters on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/20, with the Digital release expected on 11/22. The film stars Owen Wilson.
20th Century Studios and Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution have announced the 10/25 Digital only release of Zach Cregger’s horror film Barbarian.
And BBC Home Entertainment has set Frozen Planet II for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD in the UK only on 31 October. There’s no word yet on a US release date—the series will appear first on BBC America here in the States (broadcast dates TBA).
We’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for a few newly-available 4K and Blu-ray Amazon pre-orders (just click on the covers to visit their respective pages), including Spike Jonze’s Adapation (2002) in UHD from Sony...
Stay tuned...!
