We’ve got two more Blu-ray Disc reviews for you this afternoon.  Our own Tim Salmons has checked out a pair of recent titles from Shout! and Scream Factory, including Dark Angel (a.k.a. I Come in Peace) and the double feature of X-Ray / Schizoid.  Enjoy!

In announcement news today, Disney has officially set the Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray Combo on 12/10.  The film has received an “all-new digital restoration” for this release.  Newly-produced extras will include Mary-OKE (a sing-along feature to 4 songs from the film) and the Becoming Mr. Sherman featurette featuring actor Jason Schwartzman and Richard Sherman (designed to promote the new film Saving Mr. Banks).  One hopes all the vintage bonus material will also carry over, but the press release doesn’t indicate.  You’ll find the final cover artwork below (and the title is now available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking on the cover).  […]

Don’t forget, Disney also has Peter Pan: Return to Neverland coming to Blu-ray on 8/20, followed by  The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh on 8/27, followed by The Little Mermaid on 10/1, Mickey’s Christmas Carol: 30th Anniversary Edition and  Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year on 11/5 and The Great Muppet Caper/Muppet Treasure Island on 12/10.

Meanwhile, Warner Home Video is releasing the Paramount catalog titles Serpico and Eurotrip on Blu-ray on 12/3.  They also have the Showtime Original Series/Oliver Stone produced The Untold History of the United States coming to Blu-ray on 10/15.

20th Century Fox has announced the Blu-ray release of The Fly on 9/10 and A Letter to Three Wives on 9/17.  This is in addition to Fantastic Voyage and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea on 10/8.

BBC and Warner are releasing a Doctor Who: Series 1-7 Limited Edition Blu-ray Giftset on 11/5 (SRP $349.98, but just $314 on Amazon) that includes a replica Sonic Screwdriver that can also act as a remote.  Series 1-4 (as included in this set) are new to Blu-ray.  You also get the David Tennant Specials and a new BD Bonus Disc that includes three more new-to-BD specials: The Brit List’s Ultimate Doctor Who List of Lists, The Best of the Christmas Specials and the 90-minute Doctor Who at the Proms.  Here’s what the packaging looks like…

Shout! Factory has set Tank Girl, Assault on Precinct 13 and Eve of Destruction for Blu-ray release on 11/19.  Shout! and Scream Factory also have John Carpenter’s Body Bags and The Horror Show set for BD release on 11/12.  Also coming to BD in December (street date TBA) from Shout! is one of the new ITV-licensed titles, Saturn 3.  Note that this ITV deal also includes Sophie’s Choice, On Golden Pond, The Eagle Has Landed, The Last Unicorn, Capricorn One, The Tamarind Seed, The Cassandra Crossing, Brief Encounter, The Merchant of Venice, Voyage of the Damned and The Boys from Brazil, along with some 18 more titles yet to be revealed (street dates are TBA for late 2013 and 2014).  Check for the cover artwork below.

Shout! and Timeless Media are also teaming up on 9/3 to release a DVD quadruple feature of the sci-fi classics The Man from Planet X (1951), Beyond the Time Barrier (1960), The Time Travelers (1964) and Angry Red Planet (1959) – all for just $6.95!
