Shout also has a couple of interesting vintage TV titles coming in August, including Rhoda: The Final Season (on 8/15) and Just Shoot Me!: The Complete Series (on 8/22).
Speaking of Shout, a few readers have asked us if the company’s new Homicide: Life on the Street – The Complete Series DVD set will include the Law & Order cross over episodes, not to mention the 2000 TV movie that wrapped up the series. The good news is yes, there’s a bonus DVD disc in the set that has all three crossover episodes and the movie too, as follows:
- Law & Order crossover episode: Charm City, Part 1 (companion to Homicide Season 4 episode, For God or Country)
- Law & Order crossover episode: Baby It’s You, Part 1 (companion to Homicide Season 6 episode, Baby It’s You, Part 2)
- Law & Order crossover episode: Sideshow, Part 1 (companion to Homicide Season 7 episode, Sideshow, Part 2)
- Homicide: The Movie (2000 Television Movie)
The set streets on 7/4 for SRP $149.99 (Amazon has it for just $95 – see the cover artwork below).
Meanwhile, as we’ve reported in recent days, Kino Lorber Studio Classics is working on a new Blu-ray and DVD release of MGM’s A Fistful of Dollars (1964), directed by Sergio Leone, produced from a new 4K master. They’ve also announced that they’re working on The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) for release as a new Blu-ray and DVD 50th Anniversary Edition due this Summer, also from a 4K master. Now the company has announced that they’re going to follow these up with a new Blu-ray and DVD release of Leone’s For a Few Dollars More (1965) in 2018, also produced from a new 4K master. With any luck, maybe they’ll do Duck, You Sucker! (1971) eventually too.
Doppelganger Releasing has set Wes Craven’s Summer of Fear for Blu-ray release on 8/29.
Here’s a look at a little bit more new Blu-ray and DVD cover artwork for some of the titles mentioned above and more (click on the covers to pre-order the titles on Amazon.com, if available)...
And that’s all for this week. Go check out the new Wonder Woman film that opens this weekend if you get the chance – we hear it’s pretty terrific.
Stay tuned!
