All right, we’ve got two more 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray reviews for you this afternoon and they’re both animated: Fox’s The Peanuts Movie and Warner’s The LEGO Movie. Neither is native 4K but the High Dynamic Range really makes a big difference on them – especially on The LEGO Movie – so they’re both worth checking out if you’ve joined the early adopter ranks on this format. I’m going to try to look at a couple Sony titles on the format tomorrow, so do check back. [Read on here…]

We’ve got some good announcement news for you today, so let’s get right to it...

First up... Universal has set The Boxtrolls for Blu-ray and DVD release on 1/20/15. They also have a triple feature Blu-ray set of all three Laika stop-motion films, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, and Coraline, coming that same day.  [Read on here…]

All right, we’ve got a pretty good Rumor Mill-style update for you guys today, with mostly positive (but as-yet-unofficial) future release news.

First though, a couple of actual title announcements...

Scream Factory has set The Legend of Hell House for Blu-ray release on 8/26, along with Leviathan on 8/19. Meanwhile, Without Warning and Phantom of the Paradise are set for 8/5.

And Warner Home Video has set JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time for DVD release on 5/20, followed by The Adventures of Batman on DVD on 6/3. [Read on here...]

We’ve got a quick Sunday post for you with a bit of breaking release news...

As expected FUNimation officially announced at the Otakon convention yesterday that they’re going to release Shinichiro Watanabe’s landmark sci-fi anime series Cowboy Bebop on Blu-ray and digital (via Daisuki) in 2014.  There’s no other details available yet other than “coming in 2014” but no matter – we can’t wait to see it.  Meanwhile, here’s the official trailer (below).  Be sure to watch in 720p.  Sure looks good in HD!  3... 2... 1...
