All right, it’s a slow day with the MLK holiday here in the States, but we do have some good stuff for you today.

Actually, today big news isn’t specifically Blu-ray-related, but it may have a strong bearing on a future Blu-ray release. Deadline Hollywood revealed over the weekend something we’ve suspected for many months now, which is that Fox is currently in negotiations to bring The X-Files back to TV, with creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson all apparently involved. It now seems likely that a Blu-ray release of the recently HD remastered series is waiting on these developments.  [Read on here…]

We’re kicking the week off with a new Blu-ray review. This one is my look at Network’s new Space: 1999 – The Bringers of Wonder: Special Edition teaser disc, designed to promote the late 2015 release of Space: 1999 – Season Two. Also today, Michael Coate celebrates the 35th anniversary of Robert Wise’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture in his History, Legacy & Showmanship column with an interview with film historian Preston Neal Jones, author of the new book Return to Tomorrow: The Filming of Star Trek: The Motion Picture – An Oral History of the Legendary Production Documented as It Happened. All right, we’ve got a pretty good Rumor Mill-style update for you guys today, with mostly positive (but as-yet-unofficial) future release news.

First though, a couple of actual title announcements...

Scream Factory has set The Legend of Hell House for Blu-ray release on 8/26, along with Leviathan on 8/19. Meanwhile, Without Warning and Phantom of the Paradise are set for 8/5.

And Warner Home Video has set JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time for DVD release on 5/20, followed by The Adventures of Batman on DVD on 6/3. [Read on here...]
