Afternoon, folks. We’ve got a bunch of release news to report today and some new disc reviews too. First the reviews...

Our own Tim Salmons has checked in with a look at a pair of All Region Blu-rays from Aussie distributor Umbrella Entertainment, including Drive-In Delirium: ’60s and ’70s Savagery and Drive-In Delirium: Maximum ’80s Overdrive. Be sure to check them out.

We’ve also posted the weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover art and pre-order links. As always, we’d appreciate it if you used our Amazon links (any one of them) when you’re shopping from the retailer. Thank you!

The big news today is that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set Dean Devlin’s Geostorm for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23 (SRP $35.99 and $28.98), with a Digital release expected on 1/23. There’s no 4K Ultra HD version currently planned it seems, at least not at the moment. Extras on the Blu-ray will include 3 featurettes (Wreaking Havoc, Search for Answers, and An International Event). [Read on here…]

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has set Last Flag Flying for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/30, with the Digital release set for 1/16. The Amazon Studios title stars Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, and Laurence Fishbone.

Lionsgate has also set Bullet Heat for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 1/9, starring Adrien Brody, Antonio Banderas, and John Malkovich.

The company also has Friend Request coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/9.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has confirmed the 1/16 Blu-ray and DVD release of Better Call Saul: Season Three. Extras on both will include cast and crew commentaries on every episode, a Gag Reel, the Los Pollos Hermanos Employee Training videos, and 2 featurettes (Gene of Omaha and In Conversation: Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Rhea Seehorn). The Blu-ray will add exclusive deleted and extended scenes, and 3 more featurettes (It’s a Bad, Bad World, Signs of Saul, and The Return of Gus Fring).

Sony has also set Professor Marston and the Wonder Women for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 1/30. Extras will include deleted scenes, The Secret Identity of Charles Moulton Motion Comic, and 2 featurettes (A Dynamic Trio: Birth of a Feminist Icon and A Crucial Point of View: Directing – Professor Marston and the Wonder Women).

Amazon is also taking pre-orders on the Blu-ray release of Sony’s The Dark Crystal: Anniversary Edition on 3/6. There will also be a 4K Ultra HD release of the film that day, but it’s not yet up on Amazon.

Shout! Factory has set Fangs of the Dead for Blu-ray release on 3/6. Also coming on 3/27 are I Remember You on Blu-ray and Lou Grant: The Final Season on DVD.

GKids and Shout! Factory have set the animated film My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23.

A company called Good Deed Entertainment is releasing So B. It on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/9.

For those of you who subscribe to Criterion’s Film Struck streaming service, they’ve got 15 classic kaiju films available for viewing including the original Godzilla (1954). And yes, they are planning an eventual Blu-ray box set of the classic Shōwa-period Toho films.

The Orville: Season One (DVD)A number of you have noticed an Amazon pre-order listing for Fox’s The Orville: Season One on DVD only. So, I’ve contacted Fox and learned that this is likely not going to be released until Q3 of next year, closer to the time that Season Two is ready to air on Fox. And it’s possible this will NOT be a DVD-only release. Rest assured, I let them know that a LOT of your (judging by the amount of questions I’m getting about it) would like this one on Blu-ray.

And on a related note, there’s not a peep yet about a possible Blu-ray and DVD release of CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery. But then only the first half of the first season has debuted on the streaming service. It’s likely a full-season home video release will follow in mid-2018. As soon as we hear anything we’ll let you know.

On the 4K Ultra HD front today, we’ve learned that Warner’s Rampage and Ready Player One are likely to be released on the format, as are Fox Searchlight’s The Shape of Water, and 20th Century Fox’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Ferdinand. Our handy 4K Ultra HD Release List has been updated accordingly.

On the music front, Eagle Rock Entertainment has set Van Morrison: In Concert for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/16. This is a show that was filmed in 2016 for the BBC Radio 2 In Concert series.

And for you U.K. readers, Eureka! has just set The Housemaid for release on Blu-ray/DVD Combo on 2/19. It’s a gothic-horror-romance directed by Derek Nguyen.

We’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for a few of the titles mentioned above and more (with pre-order links if available)...

Geostorm (Blu-ray Disc) Last Flag Flying (Blu-ray Disc) Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (Blu-ray Disc)

The 'Burbs: Shout Select (Blu-ray Disc) The Master: The Complete Series (Blu-ray Disc) The Dark Crystal: Anniversary Edition (Blu-ray Disc)

Jigsaw (4K Ultra HD) 10 Cloverfield Land (4K Ultra HD) The Aviator (Blu-ray Disc)

And that’s all for this week. We’ll be back on Monday with new reviews, plus all the usual breaking release news.

Have a great weekend everyone. If you live in the L.A. area, please stay safe amid all these crazy wildfires. Cheers!
