Also today, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set The Shallows for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release on 9/27, with a Digital release due on 9/13. Extras on all versions will include deleted scenes and 4 featurettes (Shooting in The Shallows, How to Build a Shark, Finding the Perfect Beach: Lord Howe Island, and When Sharks Attack). The 4K version will include HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. You can see the cover artwork below.
In other release news, Lionsgate has set Blood Father, starring Mel Gibson, for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD release on 10/11.
Lionsgate has also set the comedy Joshy for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD release on 10/4.
And Lionsgate will release Into the Forest, starring Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood, on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/4 as well.
Universal has set a Gregory Peck Centennial Collection for Blu-ray release on 10/11, including To Kill a Mockingbird and Cape Fear.
Speaking of Universal, a number of you have asked when we’ll be reviewing the studio’s new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray catalog product. The answer is: I don’t know. For some reason, the studio has decided not to make it available to reviewers. Seems to me that it’s pretty tough to promote a brand new format when you don’t actually make an effort to promote your brand new format, but go figure.
Film Movement Classics has set Takeshi Kitano’s Boiling Point (1990) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/11.
Image Entertainment has set Joe Begos’ The Mind’s Eye for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/4.
Finally today, for you music fans, Eagle Vision USA has set Journey: Live in Manila on 3-disc Blu-ray/CD and DVD/CD combo formats on 9/9.
