All right, there’s been no Hobbit announcement yet, but we expect it any time. Meanwhile, we do have one update concerning the running time of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – Extended Edition. It is official 164 minutes – some 20 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. We’d previously reported 180 minutes, which we got from studio sources, but as is often the case the studio was incorrect. The 164 minutes comes directly from WingNut Films and the German ratings board is indicating the same. So please take note.  [Read on here…]

Now then… as expected, Disney’s new Star Wars Blu-rays have all gone up for pre-order today on Amazon.com. The Saga set is $115.99, while the individual Steelbooks are $24.99 each. Here they are again with clickable pre-order links…

The Phantom Menace Steelbook (Blu-ray Disc)    The Clone Wars Steelbook (Blu-ray Disc)    Revenge of the Sith Steelbook (Blu-ray Disc)

Star Wars Steelbook (Blu-ray Disc)    The Empire Strikes Back (Blu-ray Disc)    Return of the Jedi Steelbook (Blu-ray Disc)

The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki (Blu-ray Box Set)    Toy Story That Time Forgot (Blu-ray Disc)    Star Wars Saga (2015 Blu-ray Box Set)

As you may tell from the artwork above, Disney and Pixar have also announced Toy Story That Time Forgot for Blu-ray and digital release on 11/3. It’s an all new CG animated feature film. Extras will include 4 featurettes (Reptillus!, Toy Story Goes to Comic-Con, My Unexpected Friend, and the Battlesaurs Animated Opening), 5 deleted scenes, and audio commentary with director Steve Purcell and head of story Derek Thompson.

Also today, Lionsgate has made their Mad Men: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray and DVD (SRP $209.97 and $209.98 respectively), complete with all seasons, 2 hand-made silver-rimmed lowball tumblers and four cork coasters. Mad Men: The Final Season, Part 2 (also available by itself that day, SRP $49.97 for Blu-ray and $39.98 for DVD) will include audio commentaries with the cast and crew on all episodes, 4 featurettes (Laurel Canyon, Unmarried Professional Women, Generation Boom, and Earth Day), plus a BD-exclusive Interactive Advertising Timeline. The Complete Collection will include that, plus all the previous season extras, and will add 3 featurettes (Matthew Weiner: One on One, Casting Mad Men, and Design of a Decade), The Fellas at Sterling Cooper Wrap Interviews, Main Cast Wrap Interviews, the Mad Men Advertising Archives, the Mad Men Historical Timeline, and audio commentaries with the cast and crew on all episodes (including previously unreleased commentaries for Season Six).

Mad Men: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray Box Set)

Finally, Criterion has announced a delay in the street date for their Dressed to Kill Blu-ray, which we mentioned yesterday. It had been set to arrive in stores on 8/18. Look for it now on 9/8, so the company can correct the color and transfer geometry issues.

And that’s all for now. If Warner announces Hobbit later, we’ll break in again. Otherwise, we’ll see you on Monday!
