We’ve got a couple of new Blu-ray reviews for you today...

He’s also offered his thoughts on Roy William Neill’s Black Angel (1946) on Blu-ray from Arrow Academy.

And more new reviews are in the offing all this week.

The big news today is that our friends at Scream Factory have announced a nice new batch of classic horror titles for release on Blu-ray, including Hammer Films’ The Phantom of the Opera (1962): Collector’s Edition on 8/11, a Ghost Ship: Collector’s Edition on 8/18, and the Universal Horror Collection: Volume 6 on 8/25 (includes The Black Castle, Cult of the Corba, The Shadow of the Cat, and The Thing That Couldn’t Die). You can see the cover artwork above left and also below.

FUNimation has announced a team-up with Japanese game developer/distributor NIS America (Nippon Ichi Software, Inc) to bring more anime series to the FUNimation streaming service. They’re also going to be holding a virtual online FunimationCon on 7/3 and 7/4 to celebrate the anime community. Look for panels, cosplay meetups, forums and more. Visit FunimationCon.com for all the details.

And today being 5/4, Disney is celebrating their annual “May the Forth Be With You” celebration by making Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker available in 4K UHD with HDR on Disney+. Also newly available are the final two episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the first episode of the Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian documentary series looking behind the scenes on the series. The first episode looks specifically at the team of directors assembled by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for the first season. Both the doc and the final episodes of The Clone Wars are pretty good—well worth your time for Star Wars fans. So enjoy!

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for those new Scream Factory Blu-ray titles.
