In announcement news today, Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate have just officially announced the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Damien Chazelle’s almost Best Picture La La Land on 4/24. The Digital HD release is due on 4/11. It looks like the disc will actually include a nice batch of extras, starting with an audio commentary by Chazelle and composer Justin Hurwitz. You’ll also get 11 behind-the-scenes featurettes (Another Day of Sun: They Closed Down a Freeway, La La Land’s Great Party, Ryan Gosling: Piano Student, Before Whiplash: Damien Chazelle’s Passion Project, La La Land’s Love Letter to Los Angeles, The Music of La La Land, John Legend’s Acting Debut, The Look of Love: Designing La La Land, Ryan and Emma: Third Time’s the Charm, Epilogue: The Romance of the Dream, and Damien & Justin Sing: The Demos) and a song selection option. In other announcement news today, Kino Lorber has announced that they’ve acquired the North American distribution rights to Gabe Klinger’s Porto, which is Anton Yelchin’s last film. The company plans a fall theatrical release followed by home video.

Kino Lorber has also set Gianfranco Parolini’s Adios Sabata (1971) for Blu-ray release on 5/9. They’ve also set Billy Wilder’s One, Two, Three (1961) for release on both Blu-ray and DVD on 5/30.

Well Go USA has set Punching Henry for Blu-ray release on 4/18, starring Sarah Silverman and J.K. Simmons.

Candy Factory Films has set Apocalypse Child for release on DVD and Digital HD on 4/18. It’s about a Filipino surfer who may... or may not... be the love child of Apocalypse Now director Francis Ford Coppola. Interesting.

And our friends at Shout Factory have finally officially announced their Blake Edwards’ The Pink Panther Collection Starring Peter Sellers box set for release on 6/27. The 6-disc set will include The Pink Panther (1964), A Shot in the Dark (1964), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978), and Trail of the Pink Panther (1982), as well as “a 24-page book with an essay by animation historian and film critic Jerry Beck. Bonus Features will include new interviews with cast and crew members, audio commentaries, rare theatrical trailers, TV spots, stills galleries, and more.”

Speaking of Shout, and their Scream label, here’s a look at a bunch of their upcoming Blu-ray titles, which are now available for pre-order on Amazon.com. And of course, here’s La La Land as well.
