We’ve got a few things for you all today…

First, you may have seen yesterday that our own Michael Coate has a brand new History, Legacy & Showmanship column up celebrating the 40th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking Jaws. It includes all kinds of great information about the film’s initial theatrical release, as well as trivia and other production information. We’re starting things off today with a new Blu-ray review from our own Tim Salmons, this time featuring Fox’s new Kingsman: The Secret Service, which just arrived in stores last week. Turns out, it’s a pretty fun little film that’s well worth your time.

All right, we’ve got a quick Blu-ray release news round-up for you today, then we’ll be back tomorrow with new Blu-ray reviews from Tim.

First up today, Twilight Time has just announced the Blu-ray release of George Roy Hill’s The World of Henry Orient (1964) starring Peter Sellers, Steve Kloves’ The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), Rona Jaffe’s The Best of Everything (1959), Robert Benton’s Places in the Heart (1984), and Pat O’Connor’s A Month in the Country (1987). Sorry for the lack of an update yesterday. I apparently slept with my neck bent in a strange position on Tuesday morning, the result of which is that I woke up with a wicked case of vertigo. So I ended up spending most of the day in bed until it passed. Not much else to do. Everything’s fine now. Just let this be a lesson to you kids: A good quality pillow is very important. LOL.

Anyway, the big news today is that Sony has officially announced Justified: The Complete Final Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/2. As fans will already know, the show’s finale aired last night on FX and I think it was pretty great. I’ve really enjoyed this series. Anyway, both the Blu-ray and DVD will include the Hollywood to Harlan featurette (featuring the show’s writers). To this, the Blu-ray will add Directing the Show: Adam Arkin, Dutch Speaks (a vintage interview with writer Elmore Leonard about his thoughts on the show), and deleted scenes.  [Read on here…]
