All right, this will be a bit of a quick post because there’s not a lot of news to report and we’re working on new Blu-ray reviews for you guys. As such, we have three for you today.

Dr. Jahnke’s Hell Plaza Oktoberfest review this morning is a dandy – Scream Factory’s new Nightbreed: The Director’s Cut – Limited Edition Blu-ray set. It’s another home run from a company that seems to do nothing but these days.

Speaking of which, I’ve checked in today with a review of Shout! Factory’s outstanding and remastered Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Complete Series box set on Blu-ray – a title we first revealed at our panel way back at San Diego Comic-Con in 2013. The remastering and extras were personally supervised by Pee-wee himself, Paul Reubens, and the result is pretty impressive.  [Read on here…]

First, Tim has checked in with another Blu-ray review this afternoon, this time featuring Scream Factory’s Deadly Eyes. Enjoy!

In announcement news, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Earth to Echo for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/21.

Fox has also set Mr. Peabody & Sherman for Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 10/14, with Fargo: Season One up for pre-order on Blu-ray and DVD that same day (SRP $59.99 and $49.98).  [Read on here…]

The big news today is that Universal has set the Universal Classic Monsters: The Complete 30-Film Collection for DVD only release on 9/2 (SRP $199.98), The 21-disc set includes the previous Legacy Collection DVD sets of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Phantom of the Opera, along with all the extras. You also get the sequel/related films The Bride of Frankenstein, Son of Frankenstein, The Ghost of Frankenstein, House of Frankenstein, Werewolf of London, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, She-Wolf of London, Dracula’s Daughter, Son of Dracula, House of Dracula, The Invisible Man Returns, The Invisible Woman, Invisible Agent, The Invisible Man’s Revenge, The Mummy’s Hand, The Mummy’s Tomb, The Mummy’s Ghost, The Mummy’s Curse, Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Abbot and Costello Meet the Invisible Man, Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummy, Revenge of the Creature, and The Creature Walks Among Us.
