Also here at the site today, our own Russell Hammond has posted the latest update of the Release Dates & Artwork section featuring all the latest Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links.
In announcements today, the big news is that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just set Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 12/19. Extras will include 16 behind-the-scenes featurettes (among them Creation: Revisiting the Miracle, Creation: Dunkerque, Creation: Expanding the Frame, Creation: The In-Camera Approach, Land: Rebuilding the Mole, Land: The Army on the Beach, Land: Uniform Approach, Air: Taking to the Air, Air: Inside the Cockpit, Sea: Assembling the Naval Fleet, Sea: Launching the Moonstone, Sea: Taking to the Sea, Sea: Sinking the Ships, Sea: The Little Ships, Conclusion: Turning Up the Tension, and Conclusion: The Dunkirk Spirit). Both the Blu-ray and 4K are available for pre-order on Amazon now – just click on the cover artwork below. We’ve also updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly.
Also today, Universal has set American Made for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 1/9/2018. Both the Blu-ray and 4K discs will feature DTS:X audio. Universal will also release Birth of the Dragon on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/21.
Lionsgate has set Leatherface for Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/19. Extras will include 6 deleted scenes, the Behind the Mask: The Making of Leatherface featurette, and the option to watch the film with an alternate ending. The studio will also release Justin Chadwick’s Tulip Fever on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/28.
Also on the topic of Lionsgate, the studio has just set Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight for release on 4K Ultra HD on 12/12. They’ve set Michael Cuesta’s American Assassin for release on 4K on 12/5 (with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio). And their Terminator 2: Judgment Day 4K release has officially been delayed until early 2018 (the revised street date is TBA). Again, we’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly.
In other release news, Twilight Time has revealed that their November Blu-ray titles will go up for pre-sale on Twilight Time Movies and Screen Archives Entertainment on 11/1 at 4 PM Eastern. The titles in question include Sayonara (1957), Gidget (1959), Dr. Dolittle (1967), Bananas (1971), and The Yellow Handkerchief (1977). The expected street/ship date is 11/14.
Arrow Video has set House and House II: The Second Story for release on Blu-ray on 12/12.
Indicator is releasing Eyes of Laura Mars and Wolf on Blu-ray on 12/1.
Scorpion Releasing has set Hard Country (1981) for release on Blu-ray on 12/12.
Warner Bros Home Entertainment has set Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/28.
And finally, the Warner Archive will release Summer of ’42 on Blu-ray on 11/7, followed by Battle Cry on Blu-ray on 11/14, and Dolores Claiborne on Blu-ray on 11/21.
