All right, kind of a bummer day given today’s news, but we’ve got a few things for you to try and cheer you up...

First of all, we’ve posted a whole bunch of new reviews over the weekend, including my looks at Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Rebels – Season Three on BD and Universal’s The Mummy (2017), Paramount’s Ghost in the Shell (2017), and Sony’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula and The Bridge on the River Kwai: 60th Anniversary Edition in 4K Ultra HD. Meanwhile, Tim has checked in with his thoughts on the Warner Archive’s Innocent Blood, Shout! Factory’s TAMI Show & The Big TNT Show, and Criterion’s Blow-Up on Blu-ray, as well as 20th Century Fox’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Series DVD box set. [Read on here…]

Also, GKids and Shout Factory have been kind enough to send us all of their first wave new Studio Ghibli animated film reissues on Blu-ray, so we’re going to dive right into those instead. Let me tell you, they’re fantastic – essentially ports of the original Japanese Studio Ghibli BD releases, with extras unreleased here in the States and with true Japanese translation subtitles in English, along with dubtitles. I think you’re really going to be please with them, so watch for our reviews this week.

In any case, we have a bit of announcement news for you today...

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set Jumanji for re-release on Blu-ray and its first ever release in 4K Ultra HD on 12/5. The film will include Dolby Atmos audio and HDR10 high dynamic range on 4K. New extras will include a sneak peek of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, never-before-seen deleted scenes, and a gag reel featuring Robin Williams and the cast. All of the legacy extras will carry over as well.

Sony has also set Brigsby Bear for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/14, starring Claire Danes and Mark Hamill.

In addition Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season, HBO is going to be releasing a Game of Thrones: Seasons 1-7 Blu-ray box set on 12/12 (SRP $229.99). See the cover art below.

Also today, Severin Films has set The Devil’s Rain for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/31.

Screen Media is releasing the Jeepers Creepers 3 theatrical cut on Blu-ray on 12/26.

And Blue Underground will release writer/director Dick Maas’ The Lift and Down on Blu-ray/DVD Combo on 10/31, featuring new 2K restorations. You can watch new preview trailers here on YouTube...

And here’s something awesome: Network in the UK is preparing a new Blu-ray release of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, scanned from the original 35mm film elements. The disc will street on 11/20 in the UK (Region B). We don’t know who the US distributor will be yet, if any. Here’s a preview trailer for that...

And we’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for upcoming Blu-ray releases (with Amazon.com pre-order links if available)...

Men in Black Trilogy (4K Ultra HD) Doctor Who: Season 10 (Blu-ray Disc) Game of Thrones: Seasons 1-7 (Blu-ray Disc)

An Inconvenient Sequel (Blu-ray Disc) Scarecrow (Blu-ray Disc) Osiris Child (Blu-ray Disc)

Stay tuned...
