Speaking of Shout! Factory, the company has just officially announced 11/19 as the street date for its collector’s edition of Tank Girl. Extras will include audio commentary with director Rachel Talalay and actress Lori Petty, interviews with Talalay, Petty and production designer Catherine Hardwicke and a vintage promo featurette.
Meanwhile, Criterion has just revealed their December release slate, set to include Elio Petri’s Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (Cat #682 – due 12/3), Robert Altman’s Nashville (Cat #683 – due 12/3), Albert and David Maysles’ Grey Gardens (Cat #123 – due 12/10) and Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project (Cat #684 – due 12/10 – includes Touki Bouki, Redes, A River Called Titas, Dry Summer, Trances and The Housemaid). All are dual format except Grey Gardens, which is Blu-ray upgrade or the previous DVD. You’ll find all the cover artwork below.
Sony has set Breaking Bad: The Final Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/26 (SRP $65.99 and $55.99), along with Breaking Bad: The Complete Series on Blu-ray that same day (SRP $299.99). Extras on The Final Season will include audio commentary on 6 episodes with the cast and crew (including Vince Gilligan, Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, RJ Mitte and others), 16 Inside Breaking Bad featurettes (on the making of each episode), an alternate ending, an Easter egg and 3 additional featurettes (Life of a Show Runner, Behind the Scenes of the Alternate Ending and The Main Event). You’ll find cover art below. In addition, The Complete Series apparently features an exclusive feature-length documentary on the making of the final season: No Half Measures: Creating the Final Season of Breaking Bad.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the classic titles On the Riviera and The Three Faces of Eve on Blu-ray Disc for the first time on 10/8 and 11/5 respectively.
Paramount and Film Arcade have announced the VOD and digital release of the Slamdance indie horror/comedy film Ghost Team One on 10/11, the same day the title arrives in theaters. One assumes that if it does well there will be a physical media release eventually as well.
Lionsgate has set Power Rangers Super Samurai: A Christmas Wish for DVD and digital release on 10/8 (SRP $14.98).
Universal has set Law & Order: The Thirteenth Year for DVD only release on 11/5.
Image has set The Colony for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/15.
And CBS (distributed by Paramount) will release Kindred: The Embraced – The Complete Series on DVD on 10/22.
