The big news today is that the Criterion Collection has just announced its November Blu-ray and DVD slate, which is set to include Kenji Mizoguchi’s A Story from Chikamatsu (Spine #949 – Blu-ray and DVD) on 11/6, Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot (Spine #950 – Blu-ray and DVD) on 11/13, and David Byrne’s True Stories (Spine #951 – Blu-ray and DVD) and Orson Welles’ The Magnificent Ambersons (Spine #952 – Blu-ray and DVD) on 11/20. Don’t forget, they’re releasing the massive Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema box set on 11/20 as well. Visit their website for more details on each title.
In 4K news, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set Wolfgang Peterson’s Air Force One for release on 4K Ultra HD on 11/6. The film has been scanned from the negative in native 4K and will feature Dolby Atmos audio. You can see the cover artwork below.
Meanwhile, as we teased in our Comic-Con panel recently, our friends at Shout! Factory have officially set The Jerk: 40th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray on 10/2 as part of their Shout Select line. You can see the cover art for that below as well, and it’s now available for pre-order on Amazon. Extras are TBA. [Editor’s Note: Apparently Amazon jumped the gun, briefly posting the wrong street date. Per Shout it’s officially 11/13.]
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is going to issuing a new Die Hard: 30th Anniversary Blu-ray release on 9/25 packaged with new holiday-themed swag. We’ve asked the studio if the Blu-ray will also be re-mastered from the new 4K scan included on their recent Ultra HD (reviewed here). As soon as we hear back, we’ll post an update here.

VCI Entertainment has set the classic 12-chapter film serial Tailspin Tommy in the Great Air Mystery for Blu-ray release on 12/11.
Full Moon will release Pet Shop on Blu-ray on 12/11.
The MVD Rewind Collection has a Double Dragon: Collector’s Edition set for 12/11 as well.
Blue Underground is releasing Lucio Fulci’s Zombie on Blu-ray on 11/27, mastered from the 4K restoration.
Arrow Academy will release Robert Altman’s Gosford Park on Blu-ray on 11/27.
Magnolia is releasing a Takashi Miike 2-Film Collection on Blu-ray on 10/2, including Blade of the Immortal and 13 Assassins.
And Eagle Vision has just set John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Imagine and Gimmie Some Truth for release as a double-feature Blu-ray on 10/5. Again, you can see the cover artwork below.
