Obviously, Denis Villeneuve’s sequel, Blade Runner 2049, will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and Digital HD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment later this year as well, likely in time for the holidays. That film hits theaters on 10/6.
Stand by, though... we’re not done with Blade Runner today…
Also here at The Bits this afternoon, our own Michael Coate has posted another great film retrospective in his History, Legacy & Showmanship column, featuring a look back at Blade Runner’s original theatrical release in 1982. The column offers another great roundtable discussion with experts on the film, including Chris Barsani (author of The Sci-Fi Movie Guide), Charles de Lauzirika (producer of The Final Cut restoration and director of the Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner documentary), and Paul M. Sammon (author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner). It’s terrific history of the film and we think you’ll really enjoy it. You’ll find that here.
So now that’s all for today. Not bad for a Monday, right?
Stay tuned...
