In other news today, we now have official word from the Warner Archive on their plans to correct and exchange their recent Victor Victoria Blu-ray error. They are as follows:
“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has been made aware of a minor master assembly anomaly on our new VICTOR VICTORIA Blu-ray release. Consumers who desire to obtain a replacement can do so by going to Warner Bros Customer Service (at this link: http://www.warnerbros.com/customer-service), and selecting “Home Video, DVD & Blu-ray” as the TOPIC from the drop down menu on the page. Please fill out the rest of the required information on the page, and a corrected replacement Blu-ray will be shipped free of charge. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused, and appreciate your continuing support of our products.”
So, there we go!
Meanwhile, Shout! Factory has just revealed that there will be a Limited Edition Steelbook version of their forthcoming Transformers: The Movie – 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray due on 9/13 (SRP $34.99). Here’s what it looks like and you can pre-order it right now on Amazon.com by clicking on the cover artwork...
By the way: A word on that Battlestar Galactica: Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set (SRP $174). It’s from the UK, but it’s ALL REGION. More importantly, it includes not just the complete Ron Moore series, but all the films (The Plan, Razor, and Blood and Chrome) AND... the complete Caprica series (which is not available here in the States), again in all region Blu-ray. And in comes in that spiffy packaging with the corners cut off that also includes a book. You can either buy it from Amazon (US) here, or from Amazon (UK) here. Given how the British pound has dropped against the dollar over the last few days, you might get it even cheaper direct from the UK (but you have to act fast).
All right, finally today... Disney has just announced a new Beauty and the Beast: 25th Anniversary “Walt Disney Signature Collection” Edition for Blu-ray release on 9/20. It will include the original theatrical edition, a new sing-along version, and an extended version with the deleted Human Again number incorporated back into the film. Most of the classic bonus features (from previous Blu-ray and DVD editions) will be included too, and you’ll also get some all new content including Menken & Friends: 25 Years of Musical Inspiration, #1074: Walt, Fairy Tales & Beauty and the Beast, Always Belle, The Recording Sessions, 25 Fun Facts About Beauty and the Beast, and a live-action “Beauty and The Beast” Sneak Peek.
Back on Monday with more. Have a great weekend!
