CBS has officially set the Showtime series Ray Donovan: Season One for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/10. Extras will include audio commentary on at least one episode.
Speaking of CBS, the company has also now given us a street date for Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 6 and Star Trek: The Next Generation – Chain of Command on Blu-ray. Look for them on 6/6. Amazon is taking pre-orders now – just click on the cover art here (as you can see, we also included CBS’s Ray Donovan: Season One)...
Lionsgate has set the thriller Möbius for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/15.
Cinedigm will release Escape From Tomorrow on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/29.
Shout! Factory will release Newhart: The Complete Third Season on DVD on 4/22.
And Entertainment One will release Knights of Badassdom on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/1.
Some of you may have noticed on Amazon that our old friend Charles de Lauzirika’s first film, Crave, streets on DVD from Phase 4 Films tomorrow. We’ve confirmed that the Blu-ray special edition is a Best Buy in-store exclusive for about a month (but it’s not available on the Best Buy website online). So if you drop by your local Best Buy tomorrow, you should be able to pick up a copy. Amazon.ca shows it for Blu-ray release on 4/1, so my guess is that the exclusive window is only a month and it will go wide on U.S. Amazon then too. Meanwhile, we’re working on an in-depth interview with Charlie for posting here on The Bits sometime in the next week or so, covering Crave and more, so be sure to watch for it. You can see the cover art below.
Finally today, we’ve learned that the U.S. Blu-ray 3D version of Disney’s Frozen is in limbo, though you can still buy the Region Free Blu-ray 3D version at this link at Amazon.co.uk. Disney has a habit of releasing select titles internationally first, and only bringing them to the States a year or more later. Case in point: You can get 101 Dalmatians and Aladdin on all-region Blu-ray on Amazon.co.uk as well and Fantasia is still in print over there.
Here’s a look at the cover art for both versions of Crave, plus Warner’s Falling Skies: Season 3...
Stay tuned...
