20th Century Fox is set to release Ford v Ferrari on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K on 2/11. Jojo Rabbit will follow on 2/18, with the animated Spies in Disguise set to be announced for sometime in March.
BBC Home Entertainment will release the documentary series Seven Worlds, One Planet on Blu-ray and 4K on 3/3.
Discotek Media has released the animated Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie on 4K (street date was 11/26) and they’re set to release Hayao Miyazaki’s Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro on 4K sometime in early 2020 as well.
Funimation is still working on a 4K UHD release of Akira for release this year. The tentative release window is sometime in April, but that could change a little bit.
RLJ Entertainment will release Richard Stanley’s Color Out of Space on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 2/25.
Rian Johnson’s Knives Out is looking like a 2/25 release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD from Lionsgate. Meanwhile, Roland Emmerich’s Midway is coming from Lionsgate (on all three formats) on either 2/11 or 2/25 as well.
Paramount Pictures is releasing Shutter Island on 4K (in Steelbook packaging) on 2/11, with a single-film SKU of The Hunt for Red October on 4K (also in Steelbook packaging) set to follow on 2/25.
Sony will release Jumanji: The Next Level on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K on 3/17. Also coming soon from the studio are A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Charlie’s Angels (2019)—street dates TBA.
Upcoming 4K titles from Universal in early 2020 will include Queen & Slim, Sam Mendes’ 1917, and possibly Cats. Street dates are still TBA. Cats is available for pre-order on some retail site but not others. Given how bad the reviews have been, we suspect there’s a good chance the 4K release could get cancelled.
Disney’s live action The Jungle Book (2016) is set for 4K release on 1/14. Frozen 2 looks like a 2/25 release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K. Their final wave of Pixar animated 4K titles will include A Bug’s Life, WALL-E, Up, Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University, either on 2/25 or 3/3. Also coming with them will be both the 1991 animated and 2017 live action versions of Beauty and the Beast.
Disney’s Star Wars: The Skywalker Collection 4K box set continues to be listed in the States only at Best Buy for release on 3/31, but Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K widely that same day. It appears that the single-SKU 4K editions of the Star Wars films, along with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be released more widely later in 2020.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release Doctor Sleep on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K on 2/4, with DC Universe: Superman – Red Son set to follow on 3/17.
And finally, Well Go USA will release Ne Zha on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 3/3.
