Apparently, Cancer Man doesn’t work for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, because this may very well be the worst kept secret on the planet: Fox’s The X-Files: Seasons 1-9 Collection (Blu-ray) is now available for pre-order on Amazon Canada with a street date of 12/8 and an Amazon pre-order of $279.99 (Canadian dollars, mind you, which is about $210 USD – SRP is set at $399.99). Better still, Amazon.ca is ALSO showing that each season of the series (see for yourself... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9) will available separately for just $23.09 each (SRP $32.99). So you can either buy the whole smash, or just the seasons you like best! None of these SKUs are listed on Amazon US yet (and USD pricing will be slightly different), but I would expect them to appear very soon. [Read on here…]
Blu-ray News – Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation official, plus American Ultra & some bits on Iron Giant & The X-Files

Well… Amazon UK has essentially confirmed what we already knew, which is that Brad Bird’s remastered The Iron Giant is coming to Blu-ray soon. Amazon.co.uk has a “To Be Announced” listing for the Blu-ray SKU up. The movie comes back to theaters for event showings tomorrow and Sunday (10/4), so I would expect an official Blu-ray announcement as early as next week. The disc will certainly be available in time for the holidays. It’s kind of the perfect holiday gift title. [Read on here…]

We’re rounding out the week with a bunch of interesting release news today.
But first, just in case you missed them yesterday, we posted a pair of new Blu-ray reviews on Thursday: My thoughts on Fox’s new The James Bond Ultimate Collection box set and Jim’s take on the 1974 western Billy Two Hats from Kino. Newly posted this afternoon is Jim’s take on A Month in the Country (1987) from Twilight Time and a combo review (from myself and former Bits reviewer Greg Suarez) of Sony’s new Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Supreme Cinema Series Blu-ray, mastered from a new 4K scan of the film. That last one is well worth upgrading to if you’re a fan of the film, trust me. [Read on here…]
Weinstein’s Grandmaster on 3/4, plus another Rumor Mill update & Enterprise: S3 BD review
Okay, we’ve got a couple more good things for you today…
First up, in case you missed it yesterday, I posted my review of CBS’ Star Trek: Enterprise – Season Three on Blu-ray Disc last night. If you’re a fan of the series, it’s another excellent release, loaded with new bonus content. Don’t miss it. [Read on here…]
True Lies, The X-Files, a bit more Twin Peaks & Pee-Wee's Playhouse
All right, we’ve got a couple more things for you today…
First, a few more of our retail sources have dropped us e-mails to essentially confirm the Australian Twin Peaks information from yesterday. The gist is that retailers have been hearing about potential April street dates for the Blu-ray set from Paramount down under (which distributes for CBS), but that the final release date is still very much subject to change. So the upshot is, the title is definitely coming, but continue to be patient. [Read on here...]
