Again, don’t forget that it’s Black Friday Week, so there are going to be all kinds of great deals on Amazon over the next several days.
In terms of announcement news, Blackened Recordings has announced the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release of Metallica: Trough the Never on 1/28. You’ll get not only the live concert, but an 80-minute documentary, behind-the-scenes footage and much more. There will be a couple of limited editions too – find out all the details here on the band’s official website.
Lionsgate has set Nurse Jackie: Season Five for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/18 (SRP $39.98 and $39.97). Extras will include audio commentaries with the cast and crew, 2 featurettes (A Sober Jackie and New to the Floor), a gag reel and deleted scenes. Also coming from Lionsgate that same day on Blu-ray 3D Combo and DVD is the horror comedy Hellbenders (SRP $24.99 and $19.98), with audio commentary and a pair of featurettes. And Lionsgate and A&E have announced a Pride and Prejudice: Keepsake Edition for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/15 (SRP $29.99 and $19.98), featuring a trio of featurettes. The film stars Colin Firth.
Here’s something cool for you Bogart fans: Warner has set The Best of Bogart Collection for release on Blu-ray on 3/25 (SRP $49.99) featuring The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and (via Paramount) The African Queen. The set will also include vintage art cards for each film, as well as all the extras previously available with these films individually.
And are any of you on Warner Archive Instant? They’ve just made the second season of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. available for streamed viewing.
