007 4K & American Werewolf reviewed, plus Silver Bullet, Monty Python & new announcements

Okay, I posted my review of MGM’s 007: The Daniel Craig Collection in 4K Ultra HD last night here on The Bits. It’s pretty darned good image-wise. You can read all the details in the review.

Also today, Tim has posted a review of the new An American Werewolf in London: Limited Edition Blu-ray from Arrow Video. He’s also posted a look at Severin Films’ new Killer Crocodile 1 & 2 Limited Edition Blu-ray.

And I’ve started working on a review of Warner’s incredible new 4K Ultra HD release of The Wizard of Oz. The film was scanned in 8K from the original Technicolor camera negative and I’ll tell you, it’s never looked more luminous and dimensional. For an 80-year-old film, it’s pretty stunning. In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox will release Ready or Not on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/3, with the Digital release due on 11/26.

Epic Pictures is releasing the sci-fi thriller The Fare on Blu-ray and Digital on 11/19.

Lionsgate has set The Ronda Rousey Story: Through My Father’s Eyes for Digital only release on 11/19.

Scream Factory has announced the extras you’ll find on their Silver Bullet: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, due on 12/17. Look for a new commentary with producer Martha De Laurentiis, the new Cutting to the Bone interview with editor Daniel Loewenthal, and the new A Little Private Justice interview with actor Kent Broadhurst. Legacy extras will include The Wolf Within interview with actor Everett McGill, the Full Moon Fever: The Effects of Silver Bullet interview with special effects artists Matthew Mungle and Michael McCracken, audio commentary with director Daniel Attias, isolated score selections and audio interview with composer Jay Chattaway, the theatrical trailer, a TV spot, a radio spot, and a still gallery.

Network has announced its January UK Blu-ray titles, which will include Cottage to Let, The Square Ring, Play It Cool, The Love Ban, Séance on a Wet Afternoon, and The League of Gentlemen.
