How to Train Your Dragon 2, more MPI Sherlock details & art, new Scream/Synapse titles & more

We’re closing out the week with a couple new bits of announcement news and an update on a title we’ve mentioned a couple times before.

First, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set How to Train Your Dragon 2 for Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 11/11, with a Digital HD release set for 10/21. The Blu-ray Combo will include will include the all-new Dragons: Dawn of the Dragon Racers animated adventure, along with audio commentary by Simon Otto, Bonnie Arnold, Dean DeBlois, and Pierre-Olivier Vincent, deleted scenes, 5 featurettes (Where No One Goes: The Making of How to Train Your Dragon 2, Fishleg’s Dragon Stats, Drago’s War Machines, Berk’s Dragon World, and Hiccup’s Inventions in Flight), the Dragon Races experience play-by-play commentary, an image gallery, the usual World of DreamWorks Animation music videos, and the theatrical trailer.  [Read on here…]

Anchor Bay is releasing The Perfect Wave on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/16.

Synapse Films has set Demons and Demons 2 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/11.

Monarch Home Entertainment has set the thriller Come Morning for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/23.

Lionsgate has set Reclaim for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/18, starring John Cusack, Ryan Phillippe, and Luis Guzman.

And Scream Factory has set a Blu-ray Double Feature of Tales from the Crypt / Vault of Horror on Blu-ray on 12/2.

Finally, we have a quick update on MPI’s Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes Blu-ray releases that are due on 9/30. All will feature new HD transfers. As we’ve reported before, the complete series is being released in 5 individual Blu-ray sets as follows: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (SRP $59.98 – 3 discs – includes 13 episodes), The Return of Sherlock Holmes Collection (SRP $59.98 – 3 discs – includes 11 episodes), The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes (SRP $49.98 – 2 discs – includes 6 episodes), The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (SRP $49.98 – 2 discs – includes 6 episodes), The Sherlock Holmes Feature Film Collection (SRP $49.98 – 2 discs – includes 5 feature-length specials/films: The Sign of Four, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Master Blackmailer, The Last Vampyre, and The Eligible Bachelor). Now then, if you’re one of those dedicated fans who want everything, MPI is also releasing Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series box set (SRP $229.98 – 12 discs) that includes all of the above.
