Today’s the last post this week, allowing for the long holiday weekend here in the States, but we do have some more interesting odds and ends for you today, including some more new title information.

First up, Warner Home Video has officially announced The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition box set for release on Blu-ray on 9/24 (SRP $99.97).  The 6-disc set will include Batman Begins, The Dark Knight (2-disc set) and The Dark Knight Rises (2-disc set).  You’ll also get an exclusive disc of new bonus content, including The Fire Rises: The Creation and Impact of The Dark Knight Trilogy documentary, the Christopher Nolan & Richard Donner: A Conversation piece and IMAX Sequences: The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises (all the IMAX scenes from the films in their original formats).  The packaging will also offer cool new swag items, including premium Batmobile, Batpod and Tumbler Hot Wheels vehicles, new Mondo artwork cards of Scarecrow, Joker, Bane, Harvey Dent and Ra’s al Ghul, and a 48-page hardcover book featuring production stills and behind the scenes images from all three movies.  Here’s what the open packaging looks like…

The Dark Knight Trilogy: UCE (Blu-ray Disc)

Meanwhile, Warner has also now officially announced Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby for Blu-ray 3D Combo (SRP $44.95), Blu-ray Combo ($35.99) and DVD release ($28.98) on 8/27.  Extras will include 7 featurettes (The Greatness of Gatsby, Within and Without with Tobey Maguire, The Swinging Sounds of Gatsby, The Jazz Age, Razzle Dazzle: The Fashion of the ‘20s, Fitzgerald’s Visual Poetry and Gatsby Revealed), deleted scenes and trailers.  Here’s the cover artwork for both Blu-ray versions…

The Great Gatsby (Blu-ray 3D)    The Great Gatsby (Blu-ray Disc)    House of Wax 3D (Blu-ray 3D)

As you can see, we also included the newly-released artwork for Warner’s House of Wax 3D on Blu-ray 3D format (due 10/1).

Also today, we’ve checked with Universal and learned that there is as yet no street dates planned for the 100th anniversary restorations of Double Indemnity or Touch of Evil.  Let’s hope that changes.  Let the studio know you want them – perhaps over on their Facebook page – and maybe that will help.

By the way, Universal has set Wave 2 of the Universal Classic Monsters BD singles for release on 9/17, including Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein and The Wolf Man.  Also coming that day from the studio is a Tremors Attack Pack including all three movies on Blu-ray.

And other titles they have coming are Parks and Recreation: Season Five (DVD) and The Office: Season Nine (BD & DVD) on 9/3, Chicago Fire: Season One (DVD) and Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena Tour (BD & DVD) on 9/10, Bates Motel: Season One (BD & DVD – includes deleted scenes and a Paley Center Panel Discussion featurette), The Hollow Crown: The Complete Series (DVD) and Grimm: Season Two (BD & DVD) on 9/17.

Finally today, is now taking pre-orders for CBS & Paramount’s Under the Dome on Blu-ray Disc.  There’s a regular edition (SRP $64.99) and a Limited Collector’s Edition ($99.99) with exclusive content that comes in – you guessed it – a snow globe-like dome with a mini version of Chester’s Mill inside.  Nice.  No street date yet, but here’s what the limited version looks like (click the image to visit the Amazon pre-order page)…

Under the Dome: Limited Collector's Edition (Blu-ray Disc)

We’ll leave you with a look at the Blu-ray cover artwork for Uni’s Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein and The Wolf Man, Fox’s Sons of Anarchy: Season Five and the regular BD version of CBS’ Under the Dome

Dracula (Blu-ray Disc)    Frankenstein (Blu-ray Disc)    The Bride of Frankenstein (Blu-ray Disc)

The Wolf Man (Blu-ray Disc)    Sons of Anarchy: Season 5 (Blu-ray Disc)    Under the Dome (Blu-ray Disc)

Have a great long Fourth of July weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday.  Peace out!
