Classic Gamera on BD, At Middleton, Doctor Who, Cinerama: Seven Wonders, Pink Floyd & more

We’ve got a couple more new Blu-ray reviews from our own Tim Salmons this afternoon, and they couldn’t be two more different titles: Disney’s Robin Hood: 40th Anniversary Edition and Raro Video’s Nightmare City. So there’s casting a wide net for you today.

In announcement news, Olive Films have 108 Media have announced a new multi-year distribution partnership, starting in June with the titles Honour and Autumn Blood. Future titles will include Daisy: The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, Fugly!, and Shame the Devil[Read on here…]

Meanwhile, PBS has set The Making of a Lady for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/15, along with Between the Lions: Vowel Power, NOVA: Killer Typhoon, and The Hidden Art of Islam on DVD only.

Warner and the BBC will release Doctor Who: An Adventure in Space & Time on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/27. The BBC has also set Call the Midwife: Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/20.

Eagle Rock Entertainment will release the 2001 documentary The Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story on 2-disc DVD on 5/20 (SRP $17.98).

Anchor Bay Films will release At Middleton on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/1 (SRP $26.99 and $22.98).

Image Entertainment will release The Suspect on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/22.

Starz Digital has set Generation Iron for DVD release on 5/13 and digital release on 4/4.

IFC Films has set Trap for Cinderella and Wrong Cops for DVD only release on 4/15.

Garden Thieves Pictures will release the documentary Bayou Blue on DVD on 4/8.

For you kaiju fans, Mill Creek Entertainment has set Gamera: The Ultimate Collection – Volume 1 and Volume 2 for Blu-ray release on 4/29 (SRP $19.98 each). Volume 1 will include Gamera: The Giant Monster (1963), Gamera vs. Barugon (1966), Gamera vs. Gyaos (1967), and Gamera vs. Viras (1968). Volume 2 will include Gamera vs. Guiron (1969), Gamera vs. Jiger (1970), Gamera vs. Zigra (1973), and Gamera: Super Monster (1980).

And here’s something cool: Flicker Alley is preparing for the Blu-ray release of Cinerama: Seven Wonders of the World this fall. Thanks to Bits reader Bill M. for the heads-up!
