All right, I’m getting a little bit of a late start today after spending the morning at the dentist. Yeah. One of those days.

Anyway, the big news for today is that Criterion has officially revealed their June BD/DVD slate and, though it’s getting cliché to keep saying it every month, it’s another great list of titles. It starts with new HD updatings of Douglas Sirk’s All That Heaven Allows (Spine #95) and Michelangelo Antonioni’s L’Eclisse (Spine #278) on 6/10, followed by an updating of Peter Davis’ Hearts and Minds (Spine #156), the new Georges Franju’s Judex (Spine #710), and an updating of Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock (Spine #29) on 6/17. As if that wasn’t great enough, Richard Lester’s The Beatles: A Hard Day’s Night (Spine #711) rounds things out on 6/24. SRP for each of them is $39.95. Be sure to visit Criterion.com for a complete list of all the great extras. Meanwhile, you’ll find the cover artwork below.  [Read on here...]

Also today, Warner Home Video has officially set The Veronica Mars Movie for Blu-ray release on 5/6 (SRP $29.98). The disc will include the By the Fans: The Making of the Veronica Mars Movie documentary, the More On-Set Fun featurette, deleted scenes, an UltraViolet digital copy and more.

Warner has also set the Samuel Goldwyn Jr. Family Trust titles The Little Foxes, Dead End and Ball of Fire for DVD only release on 7/15 (SRP $14.97 each).

Meanwhile, Paramount will release Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit for Blu-ray Combo release on 6/10. Among the disc’s extras will be audio commentary by Kenneth Branagh and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, 4 featurettes (Jack Ryan: The Smartest Guy in the Room, Sir Kenneth Branagh: The Tsar of Shadow Recruit, Jack Ryan: A Thinking Man of Action, and Old Enemies Return), and deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary.

Universal has set You, Me and Dupree, The Breakup, and a Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason – 10th Anniversary Edition for Blu-ray release on 6/3.

And don’t forget that Twilight Time’s big 3rd Anniversary sale starts tomorrow afternoon (at 4PM Eastern) over on Screen Archives Entertainment.

Here at The Bits today, our own Dr. Jahnke has posted a new installment of his Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column running down this week’s latest from Warner Archive, Paramount (via Warner Archive) and also 20th Century Fox Cinema Archives. Green Lantern: The Animated Series anyone? Enjoy!
