We’re kicking things off this afternoon with my review of the BBC’s Sherlock: The Abominable Bride on Blu-ray Disc. Sherlock is an absolutely fantastic series, if you haven’t already picked it up yet. I highly recommend it.
Also here at the site today, we’re pleased to welcome our very own Bud Elder back after a bit of an absence. He’s been a busy fellow these last few months, but he returns today with a new View from the Cheap Seats column featuring some thoughts on Film Noir and recent “B” classics on disc. Don’t miss it. Burnt Offerings for August 12, 2014

The folks at Seattle’s Scarecrow Video have been doing that since the long-forgotten pre-internet days. Do you have a copy of Criterion’s spectacular Two-Lane Blacktop? Scarecrow Video is a big reason why it exists. [Read on here...]
Burnt Offerings For February 5, 2014
The various MOD services haven’t exactly hit the ground running in 2014, with only a handful of new releases trickling out each week.
That might be starting to change this week.
Warner Archive has a number of interesting titles and the Sony Choice Collection has five new ones for your consideration. [Read on here...]

BD Reviews Both New & Retro, Plus a Rare Rumor Mill Update for Xmas Week!
Evening, folks! This is just a quick update for you with a few items of interest for you...
First, our own Mario Boucher has turned in a review of Universal’s new Fast & Furious 6: Extended Edition on Blu-ray Disc, so be sure to check it out.
Also, we’ve added four more retro Blu-ray reviews to the new site from the old Bits database: Barrie Maxwell’s review of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, my thoughts on THX 1138: The George Lucas Director’s Cut and Dr. Jahnke’s take on Stake Land and Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Santa Sangre. [Read on here…]
