Good afternoon, Bits readers!

All right, let’s try to have a more upbeat post today. I know that yesterday’s post was a little strong, but sometimes you just have to say what you’re feeling, you know?

We’re starting today with more new disc reviews, as we often do, including…

Dennis’ review of Howard Hughes and James Whale’s Hell’s Angels (1930) in 4K from Criterion (with an assist by Tim).

Stuart’s look at Shoshannah Stern’s Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore (2025) on Blu-ray from Kino Lober.

And Tim’s thoughts on The Darjeeling Limited (2007) in 4K UHD from Criterion’s Wes Anderson Archive box set.

More reviews are forthcoming all this week, so be sure to keep checking back!

Now then… the big news today is that Criterion has just revealed their March slate, which includes Luis Buñuel’s Viridiana (1961) (Spine #332) in 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray and Blu-ray on 3/10, Lynne Littman’s Testament (1983) (Spine #1303) on Blu-ray and Claude Sautet’s Classe tous risques (1960) (Spine #434) in 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray and Blu-ray on 3/17, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) (Spine #1302) on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on 3/24, and finally Claude Lelouch’s A Man and a Woman (1966) (Spine #1304) on Blu-ray and Tsui Hark’s The Blade (1995) (Spine #1305) on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray and Blu-ray on 3/31. Criterion's March 2026 Blu-ray & 4K slate

Also recently, our friends at the Warner Archive Collection have announced a number of new Blu-ray titles for release in January, including Hanna-Barbera’s The New Fred and Barney Show: The Complete Series (1979), Rudolph Maté’s For the First Time (1959), David Butler’s By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953), Don Siegel’s The Verdict (1946), Raoul Walsh’s Manpower (1941), Richard Fleischer’s The Narrow Margin (1952), and Victor Fleming’s Red Dust (1932). All are expected to street on 1/27/26.

Disney and 20th Century Studios have set Scott Cooper’s Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025) for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 1/20/26.

A24 has set Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine (2025) for Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD release on 1/6/26.

Paramount has set Edgar Wright’s The Running Man (2025) for Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook release on 3/3/26.

In terms of TV titles, Paramount and CBS have set Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season Three (2025) for Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and 4K Steelbook release on 3/3/26.

And sadly on the catalog front, recently-revealed Paramount titles include only various and sundry repackages of the studio’s previous 4K releases, including Small Soldiers (1998), Mean Girls (2004), Scream (1996), Transformers One (2024), and The Godfather (1972) all on 2/27/26, to name but a few. Again, this is due to current limitations of the new Paramount/Alliance distribution relationship, which I highlighted in my post (available here) about Netflix, Paramount Skydance, and Warner from last week.

Here is some good catalog news: Universal has finally set Ron Howard’s A Beautiful Mind (2001) for 4K Ultra HD release on 2/3/26.

Decal will release Osgood Perkins’ Keeper (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 1/20/26.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Jalmari Helander’s Sisu 2 aka Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD Steelbook on 2/17/26.

Also today, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed some new Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD titles for release early next year. On Blu-ray, these include William Richert’s A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988) on 2/3, Jeremy Kagan’s Scott Joplin (1977) on 2/17, Allan Silliphant’s The Stewardesses 3-D (1969) and Jack Benny: Comedy Classics—featuring Frank Tashlin’s Artists and Models (1937) and Mark Sandrich’s Man About Town (1939)—on 2/24. Also listed as coming soon is Robert Alan Aurthur’s The Lost Man (1969).

And in 4K Ultra HD from KLSC, look for Kenneth Branagh’s Dead Again (1991) and Jeannot Szwarc’s Somewhere in Time (1980) on 2/10, Taylor Hackford’s Ray (2004) on 2/17, and Jean LaFluer’s Ilsa, the Tigress of Siberia (1977) and Marcel Carné’s Port of Shadows (1938) on 2/24. Joseph Sargent’s MacArthur (1977) is also now listed as coming soon.

Finally today, our friends at Turbine in Germany are about to release a new 4K Ultra HD Special Edition of Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners (1996) that’s due to street locally in a couple days (on 12/18) in separate Mediabook and keep case SKUs. You can see that here.

That’s all for now! Back with more tomorrow.

Stay tuned…
