We’ve got a trio of Blu-rays for you to enjoy today...

First up, Tim’s Halloween Hangover review is none other than Dan Curtis’ 1976 Burnt Offerings, now available on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber.

I’ve also posted a pair of Blu-ray reviews of my own looking atSony’s new The Fifth Element: Cinema Series and Léon: The Professional – Cinema Series. Both discs arrived in stores on Tuesday and are worth a look. Note that each title is available in deluxe “clear case” packaging and also regular Blu-ray cases. The regular versions are the exact same discs for less money – only the packaging is different. See the reviews for all the details.  [Read on here…]

Also here at the site today, we’ve just posted the weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section on The Bits. Please use our links when ordering or pre-ordering on Amazon, as it really helps us to support our work here and keep the site going. Thank you!

In announcement news today, Scream Factory has set Wes Craven’s The Serpent and the Rainbow for Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release on 1/26/2016 (SRP $34.93).

Warner Bros. seems to be planning to re-issue The Flash: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/1, packed with an exclusive action figure. The listing on Amazon says Blu-ray, but the picture shows DVD.

Speaking of Amazon, it seems that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and the online retailer are engaged in yet another pissing match again, the upshot of which is that Amazon suddenly doesn’t know when lots of their titles will be available for pre-order again. That includes The X-Files. Go figure. This is what happens when a company like Amazon get so big they utterly dominate their market. They start acting out like an 800-pound gorilla, simply because they can.

Meanwhile, we also have a couple good Amazon details to report: They’re selling the BBC’s Sherlock: Limited Edition Gift Set on Blu-ray for just $99 (49% off the regular price). They also have That 70s Show: The Complete Series up for pre-order on Blu-ray for just $59.99. Thanks to Bits reader John W. for the head-up.

Here’s a look at some new cover artwork...

The Serpent and the Rainbow (Blu-ray Disc)    12 Monkeys: Season One (Blu-ray Disc)    Continuum: Season Four (Blu-ray Disc)

That 70s Show: The Complete Series (Blu-ray Disc)    The Hotel New Hampshire (Blu-ray Disc)    The Knack and How to Get It (Blu-ray Disc)

Stay tuned...
