Also today, Mercury Studios will release Don Argott and Demian Fenton’s career-spanning Ronnie James Dio music documentary Dio: Dreamers Never Die on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 9/29. Extras will include 20 minutes of deleted and extended scenes, and there will be a Limited Deluxe Edition that includes swag items.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set the comedy Gene Stupnitsky’s sex comedy No Hard Feelings (2023) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/29. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Andrew Barth Feldman, and Matthew Broderick.
And for your sci-fi fans, Dazzler Media has officially set For All Mankind: Season Three for Region B Blu-ray release in the UK on 10/9 (here’s the Amazon.uk pre-order link). This of course is the fantastic Apple TV+ original series produced by Ronald D. Moore and Sony Television. I’ve reviewed Dazzler’s recently-released Season One Blu-ray here at The Bits (and my review of Season Two is forthcoming).
In other film industry news, 20th Century Studios has just revealed the final trailer for Gareth Edwards’ epic sci-fi actioner The Creator (2023) and it’s well worth a look here...
And finally today, we need to take a moment to acknowledge the far-too-early passing of the screenwriter, director, and producer Manny Coto. That name might not be familiar to some of you, but Star Trek fans will know Coto for his work in show-running the fantastic fourth and final season of Star Trek: Enterprise (which is perhaps my single favorite season of any Trek series save for the recent Picard: Season Three). Coto also directed several films, including Dr. Giggles (1992) and Star Kid (1997), and created the sci-fi series Odyssey 5, then wrote many episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise, 24, Dexter, 24: Live Another Day, 24: Legacy, and both Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Stories and American Horror Story. And though I didn’t know him well, I’m honored to have met him on a few occasions and had interesting conversations (mostly about Star Trek). Coto was just 62 and will surely be missed.
