Also today here at The Bits, our own Tim Salmons has closed out his Pick-Ups review column for this week with a look at Robert Eggers’s new horror classic The Witch, as recently released on Blu-ray by Lionsgate. Don’t miss it!
And in other news this afternoon, the folks at Network Distributing have released a new video teaser for their forthcoming UFO: The Complete Series Blu-ray set. All 26 episodes are being remastered from the existing 1.33:1 high-definition transfers, with extensive digital clean up and re-grading. New special features are also being created. Look for it to be released on Blu-ray Disc in the UK (and hopefully here in the States too) later this year. Here’s the teaser…
Finally today, we have a look for you at the official final cover artwork for Warner Bros Home Entertainment’s regular 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo, Blu-ray 3D Combo, and standard Blu-ray Combo editions of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Ultimate Edition, which are due on 7/19. A number of you guys have asked us today if these versions will be variable aspect ratio (shifting from 2.39:1 to 1.78:1 for the IMAX-filmed scenes). We don’t know yet, but we’ve put the question to our studio sources and we’ll let you know as soon as we hear back. In the meantime, click on the covers below to pre-order the discs on Amazon.com (and remember that doing so helps to support our work here at The Bits, which we greatly appreciate)…
That’s all for this week. Enjoy the Wrath of Khan BD review and we’ll see you back here on Monday. Peace out!
