We’ve got some more new release news for you today, but first another review...

Tim has taken a deep dive into Severin Films’ The Amicus Collection box set, which includes Asylum, And Now the Screaming Starts, and The Beast Must Die! on Blu-ray, each with significant extras. The box streeted on 1/16 and if you’re a fan of these films it’s well worth a look. So enjoy Tim’s review!

The big news today is that Scream Factory has just announced the It’s Alive Trilogy for release as a Blu-ray box set on 5/15. A potentially great title aside, the most interesting aspect of this is that these are Warner Bros titles, so it seems possible that this could be just the first of several titles coming to BD from Shout!/Scream and Warner in 2018. We have just a quick release news round-up for you today, but we’ve got some good titles to report on…

In announcement news today, Universal has already set Syfy’s The Magicians: Season Two for Blu-ray release on 7/11 (SRP $44.98). They’ve also just announced Syfy’s The Expanse: Season Two for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/18 (SRP $49.98 and $39.98). And the studio has now set NBC’s Emerald City: Season One for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/25 as well.

For you fans of 4K Ultra HD – and I know there are a few of you out there – Universal has also just set Peter Jackson’s King Kong: Ultimate Edition for release as a 4K/BD combo on 7/11 (SRP $39.98). [Read on here…]

We’ve got more release news for you today, so let’s get right into it...

Universal has officially set Jordan Peele’s horror film Get Out for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/23. We hear it’s pretty damn great. Extras are going to include audio commentary with writer/director Jordan Peele, deleted scenes and an alternate ending also with director’s commentary, and 2 featurettes (Unveiling the Horror of Get Out and Q&A Discussion with Writer/Director Jordan Peele and the Cast).

20th Century Fox has set A United Kingdom for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/6, with the Digital HD version due on 5/23. Extras will include 4 featurettes (The Making of A United Kingdom, Filming in Botswana, The Legacy of Seretse and Ruth, and London Film Festival Opening Night Gala Premiere).

Fox has also added new MOD DVD titles to their Fox Cinema Archives vault, including Sailor of the King (1953), Sea Wife (1957), Murder, Inc. (1960), Move Over, Darling (1963), Back Door to Hell (1964), and Convict Stage (1965). And on the TV front, Fox will release Damien and Queen of the South on DVD only on 6/6. [Read on here…]

All right, it looks like the site is finally up and working again, and it seems fairly stable. We’re continuing to make some tweaks to improve the performance, but it appears that things are starting getting back to normal here at The Bits at last. In new announcements today, Paramount Home Entertainment has just revealed that they’re releasing a new Juice: 25th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray on 6/6.

Amazon is now taking pre-orders for Homeland: The Complete Sixth Season on Blu-ray and DVD from 20th Century Fox with the street date TBA. [Read on here…]
