With Paramount’s long-awaited (and lovingly-restored) My Fair Lady: 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray finally arriving in stores today, our own Michael Coate has published a look back at the film’s original theatrical release along with a new roundtable interview with historians about the film’s legacy. You can find that in his History, Legacy & Showmanship column today. Enjoy!

Also today, Tim Salmon’s Halloween Hangover Blu-ray review for the day is Shout!/Scream Factory’s Gravy. There are just four reviews left, so be sure to check back each day between now and Saturday.  [Read on here…]

There are also a couple of great deals we wanted to point out today over at Amazon.com. They’re selling the Ron Moore/Syfy Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series on Blu-ray just $82. Amazon also has the multi-film Steven Spielberg: Director’s Collection for just $69 on Blu-ray. Act fast to take advantage.

And in other news this afternoon, we have sad news to report: The acclaimed Japanese artist and illustrator Noriyoshi Ohrai has died. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, his work surely will. Here’s one of his greatest hits...

Ohrai's Japanese Empire Strikes Back poster

You can take a look at more of his work today in this tribute piece over on Kotaku. If there was ever a Japanese OMNI Magazine, Ohrai would surely have painted more of its covers than anyone. He’ll be missed.

We’ll leave you with a look at more new Blu-ray Disc cover artwork, complete with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...
