All right, yesterday’s My Two Cents post apparently got corrupted somehow after we posted it. So we’re going to cover much of the same ground today, plus a lot more.

We start things off (again) today with another new Blu-ray review from Tim Salmons. He’s taken a look at the new 3-disc The Last House on the Left: Limited Edition Blu-ray set from director Wes Craven and our friends at Arrow Video. Sounds like it’s pretty damn solid, so do give it a look.

In announcement news, Shout! Factory has unveiled some great new Blu-ray titles, including a Dragnet: Collector’s Edition (street date 10/30) and The Man in the Iron Mask: 20th Anniversary Edition (due 10/9), both as Shout Select releases. The extras are TBA.

Meanwhile, their Scream Factory label chimes in with a House on Haunted Hill: Collector’s Edition (the 1999 film obviously) which is due to street on 10/9. Extras are TBA, but material from the previous DVD release will carry over. Look also for The Wasp Woman (10/30), a Trick ’r Treat: Collector’s Edition (10/9), The Bride (1985) and an Exorcist II: The Heretic – Collector’s Edition (both on 9/25). [Read on here...]

Scream is also releasing new IFC Midnight Blu-ray and DVD titles on 8/7, including Lowlife, Wilding, and Pyewacket.

We expect to hear more great announcements from Shout! and Scream at their San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday, 7/20 (7:00-8:00 PM in Room: 32AB), which I’ll be moderating again this year. So we hope to see you there!

Here’s an amazing surprise: the Warner Archive has just released Supergirl (1984) on Blu-ray Disc. The Blu-ray includes the film’s International Cut in HD, along with the rare Director’s Cut in SD on a bonus DVD disc in the package. Audio will be included in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. You can see the cover artwork below.

On the 4K front, Sony’s Bad Boys I & II Collection is now available for pre-order on Amazon for 9/4.

As we first reported way back in April, our retail sources are continuing to report that Marvel’s The Avengers and The Avengers: Age of Ultron are being prepared for release on 4K Ultra HD later this year, in time for the expected 8/14 BD/4K release of The Avengers: Infinity War.

Lionsgate has set Transporter 3 for release on 4K Ultra HD on 8/7.

Retail sources tell us that Fox’s Deadpool 2 is due on BD/4K on 8/21.

Retail sources are also suggesting that Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 will street on BD/4K on 11/6.

We have early word that HBO will release Westworld – Season Two on BD/4K in November (retailers are telling us 11/6 for this title as well, but that is subject to change).

Warner’s Ocean’s 8 is looking like a 9/4 or 9/11 release on BD/4K.

Universal’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom appears to be set for BD/4K release on 9/18.

And Disney and Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story is now looking like an October release on BD/4K, per retail sources.

Of course, we’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits with all of the information above.

Back to Lionsgate for a moment… here’s a nice surprise: look for Francis Ford Coppola’s Tucker: The Man and His Dream on Blu-ray as a 30th Anniversary Edition on 8/28. The package will included a new HD remaster of the film, a new deleted scene with optional commentary by Coppola, a new Coppola introduction, the previous audio commentary by Coppola, the Under the Hood: Making Tucker featurette, and the 1948 promo film Tucker: The Man and the Car with optional Coppola commentary. Pretty cool. You can see the cover artwork below.

Lionsgate has also set AMC’s The Terror: The Complete First Season for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/21.

Speaking of TV titles, there is absolutely no sign at the moment that CBS plans to release Star Trek: Discovery – Season One on Blu-ray anytime soon. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen as we get closer to the debut of Season Two on CBS All Access, but the network seems happy to keep the series behind their paywall for now.

It does, however, appear that Fox will release The X-Files: The Complete Season 11 on Blu-ray and DVD in late July or early August. Its currently set for 7/23 on

We haven’t seen an announcement yet, but it appears that Warner Bros. has set Longmire: The Complete Sixth and Final Season for DVD release on 7/11. At least such is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. That could be subject to change. And while there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, we expect the Warner Archive to release the season on Blu-ray in September.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has set Adrift for release on 9/4.

Speaking of Universal, the company has set Morgan Neville’s Mister Rogers documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? for release on DVD only on 9/4. It looks like they’ll be releasing Wim Wenders’ Pope Francis: A Man of His Word on DVD only that same day. Both deserve Blu-ray releases, so fingers crossed such will be announced. [Editor’s Note: Good news! Universal has just added Won’t You Be My Neighbor? for BD pre-order as well.]

Criterion is re-issuing Billy Wilder’s Ace in the Hole on Blu-ray on 10/2, along Jules Dassin’s Rififi that same day.

Arrow Video has set The Day of the Jackal (1973) and The Baby (1973) for release on Blu-ray on 9/25. They also have Horrors of Malformed Men (1969), The Pyjama Girl Case (1977), and The Hired Hand (1971) due on 9/18. And look for Bloody Spear at Mount Fuji (1955) and Dario Argento’s Deep Red (1975) on 9/4.

An indie label called Gunpowder & Sky will release Hearts Beat Loud on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/14. The film stars Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, and Toni Collette.

The Cinema Guild will release Valeska Grisebach’s Euro-thriller Western on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/28.

Indicator has set David Mamet’s Oleanna for release on both formats on 8/24.

VCI Entertainment has set Mario Bava’s Blood and Black Lace on Blu-ray on 10/23. Also coming on Blu-ray that same day is Eliot Ness: An Untouchable Life.

Flicker Alley is releasing the lost film noir classic The Man Who Cheated Himself (1950) on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/25, in association with the Film Noir Foundation and the UCLA Film & Television Archive.

Unearthed Films will release The Unnamable on Blu-ray on 10/9.

Wild Eye Releasing has set The Forest of the Lost Souls on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/9.

MVD Rewind Collection will release Angel Town on Blu-ray on 9/25.

And Artsploitation has set Colinda Bongers and Thijs Meuwese’ Molly for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/25.

All right, we’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for a number of the titles mentioned above and more. Click on each to pre-order them on Amazon, if available…
