[Editor’s Note – I’ve confirmed with Paramount that the aspect ratio is variable from 2.35 to 1.78 for select scenes shot in IMAX.]

And finally, here’s something interesting: After being the first country to see the Blu-ray release of Universal’s classic Battlestar Galactica and Galactica: 1980 on Blu-ray, Germany is now about to see the release of both seasons of Universal’s classic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series... sort of. Each season is set to street individually on the format on 2/17 in Germany, but in STANDARD DEFINITION. Here’s what the cover artwork looks like (linked to their pre-order pages on Amazon.de)…

Before you rush out to pre-order them (if you’re interested in SD on Blu-ray that is), do remember that these will probably be Region B locked and it will be in PAL format. However, we’ve already asked Universal if there’s any chance of this series coming to Blu-ray in the States in actual HD and we’ll let you know what we hear as soon as they get back to us.

We’ll leave you with more new BD cover artwork. Here’s a look at Interstellar and a few more titles. All are linked to their respective Amazon.com pre-order pages…
