All right, we’re rounding out the week with another trio of new disc reviews...

First, Tim has turned in this thoughts on Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat (2021) in 4K Ultra HD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Stephen has offered a review of Robert Aldrich’s Vera Cruz (1954), an influential UA/MGM titles new on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

And I’ve taken a look at The Little Rascals: The ClassicFlix Restorations – Volume 2 on Blu-ray, which includes the next set of 11 vintage shorts from 1930 to 1931.

More reviews are on the way for next week, so be sure to check back for them. [Read on here...]

Now then, the big piece of announcement news today is that Marvel and Disney have just officially set director Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 11/30, with the Digital release expected on 11/12. Expect HDR10 high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos audio on the 4K, while the Blu-ray will include 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

Extras on both will include audio commentary by Destin Daniel Cretton and Dave Callaham, 2 featurettes (Building a Legacy and Family Ties), a Gag Reel, and 11 Deleted Scenes (among them They’re Waiting, Take a Shot, Apology, I’m Here, Pep Talk, Greatness, Escape Tunnel, Two Sons, Postcard, Just Friends, and Do It Yourself).

Here’s a look at the cover Blu-ray and 4K artwork (we’ll add the Amazon pre-order link as soon as it goes live)...

And in other news today, Kino Lorber and Giant Pictures have teamed up to launch a new streaming service for genre classics called Kino Cult. The service is free (it’s ad-supported) and it debuts today in the US and Canada, both online and via apps on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Google TV, iOS, and Android devices. Be sure to visit their website here for lots more details and to see some of the titles they’re streaming. And here’s a trailer for the new service...

And that’s all for this week. Everyone have a great weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday.

Cheers!
