All right, for the next three days, some of The Bits crew is going to be making our yearly pilgrimage down to Comic-Con in San Diego.  As you know, we’re holding our regular Blu-ray panel down there on Thursday afternoon (4-5 PM in Room 5AB) so if you’re down there, we’d sure love to see you there.

Meanwhile, we have a couple things for you while we’re away…

First, our own Bud Elder has turned in a new View from the Cheap Seats column featuring stories about visiting movie sets (sometimes accidentally), George Stevens’ The Only Game in Town, Mark Robson’s Avalanche Express, new movies on disc and in the movie theaters and much more.  As always, it’s not to be missed!

Also, over the next three days, we have several new Blu-ray Disc reviews for you each to enjoy.  Available today Tim Salmons’ take on a pair of recent Criterion Collection Blu-ray titles – Hal Ashby’s Harold and Maude and Elia Kazan’s On the Waterfront.  Tomorrow (Thursday), we’ll have Tim’s take on Eric Red’s Cohen and Tate from Shout! Factory, and Christopher Nolan’s early work Following from The Criterion Collection.  And on Friday, you’ll find Tim’s look at Shout!’s Dead Souls and Joe Marchese’s thoughts on Twilight Time’s Our Man Flint.  Enjoy!

In terms of title announcement, we have breaking Shout! Factory news for you Power Rangers fans – Shout! and Saban Entertainment are releasing a whopping 98-disc Power Rangers Legacy: The First 20 Years DVD box set on 12/3, only on ShoutFactory.com.  Here’s more from the official press release: “Spanning the first 20 seasons of the Power Rangers television series, this limited edition home entertainment collection features every Power Rangers episode, from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers Megaforce, boasting over 270 hours of action-packed entertainment across 98 DVDs. Housed in a collectible Red Ranger helmet, Power Rangers Legacy: The First 20 Years includes six DVDs spotlighting hours of bonus content, including brand-new featurettes as well as special archival material.”  Here’s a look at the helmet packaging…

Finally today, Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD, from Warner Home Video.  We don’t have a street date yet, but here’s a look at the official cover artwork…
