Okay, we’ve got a couple things for you today, but the overall update is going to a quick one today. My wife was in a car accident yesterday – she’s okay, but our car was rear-ended and sustained some pretty good damage, so real life calls today with significant demands on my time.

Meanwhile, though, the good Dr. Jahnke has turned in his weekly Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column for this week with some good news about a great new catalog Blu-ray release from The Warner Archive, as well as additional DVD product from Warner Archive and the 20th Century Fox Cinema Archives. Don’t miss it! [Read on here...]

And our own Russell Hammond has updated the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray and DVD cover art and Amazon.com pre-order links. As always, a portion of absolutely anything you purchase in the same browsing session after clicking through any of our Amazon links goes to help support our work here at The Bits and we surely do appreciate it. It definitely make a difference in ensuring that we can continue covering Blu-ray and DVD in the months and years ahead. So thank you!

Now then... there’s little release news today, but of course you may be aware that Disney has just announced the official cast list for Star Wars: Episode VII, which includes Max Von Sydow. They’ve also released the first picture of the cast, and revealed that shooting officially begins in a couple of weeks. More here at EW Online.
