With the President’s Day holiday going here in the States, there’s not a great deal of announcement news to report on this afternoon. However, we do have a couple interesting odds and ends worth mentioning...

And in the works for Blu-ray and DVD later in 2016 are Stryker (1983), Something for Everyone (1970), and Man Facing Southeast (1986 – aka Hombre mirando al sudeste).

Olive Films will release Making the Grade (1984), Bandits (2001), The Boost (1988), and Roger Corman’s The Trip (1967) on Blu-ray on 3/22.

PBS has set Grantchester: Season 2 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/14.

Cohen Media Group will release Frederico Fellini’s City of Women on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/31.

And here’s a surprise: Mill Creek Entertainment has set Prefontaine for Blu-ray release on 4/5. Mill Creek has also set Just Visiting, My Boyfriend’s Back, a Sun, Sand and Sweat 4 Movie Set (Private Resort, Perfect, Hardbodies, and Spring Break), and a Jean-Claude Van Damme – 5 Movie Pack (The Hard Corps, Universal Soldier: The Return, Maximum Risk, Second in Command, and Knock Off) for Blu-ray release on 3/15.

Finally, in other news, Lucasfilm and Disney have just announced the official start of filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII. Production began at Pinewood Studios today, though the announcement video features the crew on Skellig Island (from last September) with the filming of... well, take a look for yourself...
