We’re starting today with a pair of new Blu-ray Disc reviews here at The Bits, including...

My own look at Ric Roman Waugh’s Greenland on Blu-ray, a great new disaster epic starring Gerard Butler from Universal and STX Films which should really be released on physical 4K Ultra HD.

And Dennis’ look at The Court Jester (1955), new on Paramount Presents Blu-ray from our friends at Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment.

Now then... the big news today is that Shout! Factory and Scream have announced a great slate of catalog Blu-ray titles for release in May, including a King Kong (1976): Collector’s Edition, The Final Stand (2020), The Legend of Hei (with GKids), and All About the Benjamins: Shout Select on 5/11, Wildcats: Shout Select, The Nest, He Knows You’re Alone, and Eyes of a Stranger on 5/18, and The Hand, Explorers: Collector’s Edition – Shout Select, and City Slickers II: The Legend of Curley’s Gold: Shout Select on 5/25. You can see the King Kong artwork above left and we’ve included another of the covers below. Extras on many of these titles are still in progress and TBA.

Scream Factory and IFC Midnight have also set the thriller Rent-a-Pal for release on Blu-ray on 3/9.

Lionsgate will release the Jackie Chan actioner Vanguard on Blu-ray and DVD on 3/9, with the Digital release expected on 3/2. The company also has Tara Miele’s Wander Darkly coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/9.

Universal has set Horizon Line for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/16. The Digital version is available now.

RLJE Films has set Jayro Bustamante’s Guatemalan horror film La Llorona for release on Digital HD only on 3/2.

Kino Lorber has just released the landmark 1972 documentary Nationtime on Blu-ray and DVD, mastered from a new 4K scan.

And for UK readers, Eureka has announced the April 19th Blu-ray release of Straight Shooting & Hell Bent: Two Films by John Ford. Each is mastered from new 4K restorations.

Also, in new film release news, Michael B. Jordan is starring as John Clark in Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse on Amazon Prime on 4/30. It will be fascinating to see if there’s a crossover with Amazon’s Jack Ryan series at some point. Jordan apparently produced the action film through his own company Outlier Society. The film was directed by Stefano Sollima and is a co-production with Amazon Studios, Paramount, Skydance, and New Republic.

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for a few of the titles mentioned above and more (we’ll add the Amazon pre-order links to the Shout titles as soon as they’re available)...

The Final Countdown (4K Ultra HD) King Kong (1976) (Blu-ray Disc) Explorers (Blu-ray Disc)

Masculin féminin (Blu-ray Disc) Memories of Murder (Blu-ray Disc) The Furies (Blu-ray Disc)

Also, if anyone out there is looking to fill gaps in their catalog Blu-ray collections, Ed Wood, Dick Tracy, Tombstone, The Hateful Eight, and many more titles are current on sale right now for $5.99-$9.99 on Amazon. Click on the title links for those.

And there are some good new titles available at Zavvi US too, including Switchblade Sisters, Death Has Blue Eyes, an exclusive Steelbook of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, an exclusive Steelbook of Godzilla 4K, and Donnie Darko in 4K. Click on each of the title links to visit their respective pre-order pages on Zavvi US.

That’s all for now! Stay tuned...
