Arrow’s December slate includes Ninja Turtles in 4K, plus Sony’s Anaconda, KLSC’s Alec Guinness: Masterpiece Collection & much more!

We’ve got a bunch more new disc reviews for you today, including…

Tim’s thoughts on Larry Cohen’s The Stuff (1985) and Stephen Hopkins’ Lost in Space (1998) both in 4K Ultra HD from Arrow Video, as well as Lau Kar-leung’s My Young Auntie (1981) on Blu-ray from Arrow’s Shawscope: Volume Two Blu-ray box set.

Stephen’s take on Sam Peckinpah’s Convoy (1978) in 4K Ultra HD from both Imprint Films and Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

And Stuart’s look at Martin Ritt’s Hud (1963) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films and Junya Satō’s Proof of the Man (1977) on Blu-ray from Arrow Video.

Now then, the big news today is that our friends at Arrow Video have officially announced their December Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD slate, and it’s another good one. [Read on here...]

Look for it to include John Woo’s City on Fire (1987) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the UK only on 12/1, Charlie Ahearn’s Wild Style (1982) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the US, UK, and Canada (including a Limited Edition LP bundle) on 12/2 (12/1 in the UK), Pupi Avati’s The House with Laughing Windows (1976) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the US and Canada on 12/2, the Shawscope: Volume Four (1875-1983) Blu-ray box set in the US, UK, and Canada on 12/9 (12/8 in the UK)—which includes Super Inframan, Oily Maniac, Battle Wizard, Black Magic, Black Magic: Part 2, Hex, Bewitched, Hex vs. Witchcraft, Hex After Hex, Bat Without Wings, Bloody Parrot, The Fake Ghost Catchers, Demon of the Lute, Seeding of a Ghost, Portrait in Crystal, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star—and finally the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the US, UK, and Canada on 12/16 (12/15 in the UK). Arrow Video's December 2025 slate tease

Meanwhile, Warner has made Miloš Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) official for release on 4K Ultra HD and 4K Steelbook on 11/1.

And while we’re talking Warner, we’ve confirmed with the studio that the aspect ratio for Joseph Kosinski’s F1: The Movie (2025)—which streets on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 10/7—will be 2.39:1, just like the Digital version. That is official.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Luis Llosa’s Anaconda (1997) for Blu-ray + 4K Ultra HD Steelbook release on 12/9. Sony will also release Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD, though the street date is still TBA.

Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have set Alfred E. Green’s The Gracie Allen Murder Case (1939) for Blu-ray release on 11/18. Following on 11/25 are Ruggero Deodato’s The Barbarians (1987) and the French Noir Collection II (1953-1961)—including Rhine Virgin (1953), The Beast is Loose (1959), Trapped by Fear (1960), and The Passion of Slow Fire (1961)—on Blu-ray, as well as the Alec Guinness: Masterpiece Collection (1949-1955) on 4K Ultra HD—including Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949), The Lavender Hill Mob (1951), The Man in the White Suit (1951), and The Ladykillers (1955).

Decal Releasing will now Michael Shanks’ Together (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 11/11.

Severin has set Douglas Buck’s Sisters (2006) and Penelope Spheeris’ The Boys Next Door (1985) for wide 4K Ultra HD on 11/25.

Here’s something cool: Anchor Bay Entertainment is going to be releasing Trish Geiger and Frank Dietz’s Beast Wishes: The Fantastic World of Bob and Kathy Burns (2012) on Blu-ray on 12/16.

Sandpiper Pictures is releasing a number of catalog films on Blu-ray on 12/2, including Zapped! (1982), Dirty Work (1998), Sometimes They Come Back (1991), The Meteor Man (1993), Undercover Blues (1993), Stagecoach (1986), and Mannequin (1987).

And for music fans, Mercury Studios has set Def Leppard: Diamond Star Heroes – Live from Sheffield for 4K Ultra HD release on 11/21.

Also today, for you fans of Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie (1978), our friend Jim Bowers over at CapedWonder has revealed that he’s going to be bringing back into print David Michael Petrou’s excellent The Making of Superman: The Movie (1987) book in a new expanded edition. This was famously released in paperback format only back in the day, but this new version will be a deluxe hardback with lots of new content including new chapters and rare photos. It will be available exclusively on the CapedWonder website in early 2026. You can find more details here.
