Good afternoon, Bits readers! We’re kicking things off this week with a number of new disc reviews, including…

My thoughts on Stephen Soderbergh’s Black Bag (2025) in 4K UHD from Focus Films and Universal as well as the recent stand-alone 4K release of Carol Reed’s Oliver! (1968) from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Stephen’s reviews of Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) in 4K UHD from Universal and John Hancock’s Let’s Scare Jessica to Death (1971) in 4K from Vinegar Syndrome.

And Stuart’s look at William A. Wellman’s Track of the Cat (1954) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films.

More reviews are definitely on the way this week, including (tomorrow) my take on the BFI’s new 4K release of Akira Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress (1958). So be sure to check back for them!

In announcement news today, we’ve got some great titles to share with you!

First, our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have just revealed that they’re working on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray editions of Blake Edwards’ Pink Panther films—including The Pink Panther (1963), A Shot in the Dark (1964), Return of the Pink Panther (1975), Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), and Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978)—all in honor of Peter Sellers’ centennial! The street date are TBA, but consider them all “coming soon.” [Read on here...]

Also, our friends at Imprint Films have just revealed their 500th catalog title, which is a new 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray hardbox edition of Guy Hamilton’s Battle of Britain (1968)—very exciting indeed! It will include all the legacy features plus a number of newly-created special features. Here’s what the package will look like (click here or on the image to visit Imprint’s pre-order page)…

Imprint Films' Battle of Britain (4K Ultra HD)

A number of you have wondered when Warner Bros. would be announcing their planned 4K Ultra HD release of Miloš Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975). Well, based on retail listings, it looks like the tentative street date is set for 3/18/26—though do keep in mind that it’s still subject to change. Nevertheless, you can already pre-order it here on Amazon…

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (4K Ultra HD) TRON (4K Ultra HD) TRON: Legacy (4K Ultra HD)

The Sound of Music (4K Ultra HD) Weapons (4K Ultra HD) The Conjuring: Last Rites (4K Ultra HD)

As you can see, Disney’s Tron and Tron: Legacy 4Ks are both now available for pre-order, and pre-orders for 20th Century’s The Sound of Music are about to start imminently. So click on the cover art to visit their respective Amazon pages.

[Editor’s Note: It appears that Amazon has temporarily taken down the Tron 4K pre-order pages. We anticipate they’ll be back up again soon.]

Also, pre-orders have begun for Zach Cregger’s Weapons (2025)—which is set to street on 10/14—along with Michael Chaves’ newly-released The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) which just took in $187 million in theaters around the world this weekend. The street date for that is TBA.

Well Go USA will release Irie Yu’s Samurai Fury (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 10/28.

Lionsgate has set Little House on the Prairie: The Complete Series for Blu-ray release on 9/9.

And our friends at the BFI have announced their October and November 4K and Blu-ray slates, which include Georges Franju’s Eyes Without a Face (1960) in 4K, and Antonia Bird’s Priest (1994), Anand Tucker’s Hilary and Jackie (1998), and Terence Davies’ The House of Mirth (2000), an Akira Kurosawa Samurai Collection box set collecting their recent editions, Chantal Akerman’s Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975), and Short Sharp Shocks: Volume 4 (1948-1980) on Blu-ray.

That’s all for now! Back soon with more.

Stay tuned…
